Hey, I’m Fortis — and I’m glad you found this place.
For 18 years, I worked in banking. I spent nearly two decades analyzing risk, understanding systems, and figuring out how things actually work beneath the surface. It was rewarding work — but somewhere along the way, a different kind of system started capturing my attention.
Electric vehicles. E-bikes. E-scooters. Renewable energy. The entire ecosystem of technology quietly reshaping how we move through the world.
I didn’t come to this space because of climate guilt or a sudden change of heart. I came because the technology genuinely fascinated me. The engineering behind a modern EV battery. The ease of riding e-scooters and e-bikes, and the resulting policy battles playing out in city councils over regulations. The way an entire century-old transportation industry is being rebuilt from the ground up — faster than most people realize.
I wanted to understand all of it. And once I started digging, I couldn’t stop.
Why I Started eMobilityNow
Here’s what I kept running into: a lot of the coverage around EVs and e-mobility is either too shallow or too technical. You get breathless hype on one end and dense engineering specs on the other. Very little in between that actually helps a regular person make a smart decision.
That gap bothered me. My banking background trained me to cut through noise and focus on what actually matters. My IBM cybersecurity certificate reminded me how quickly technology landscapes shift — and how important it is to stay ahead of those shifts rather than react to them.
So I built eMobilityNow to be the resource I wished existed. A place where the research is done properly, the information is current, and the writing assumes you’re an intelligent adult who just wants the real picture — without the spin.
What You’ll Find Here
Every article on this site goes through real research before a word gets written. We dig into government sources, legal frameworks, manufacturer specs, and real-world user experiences — not just press releases and manufacturer claims.
Right now we’re covering:
- EV comparisons and buying guides — helping you figure out which electric vehicle actually fits your life and budget
- E-bike and e-scooter laws — cutting through the legal confusion that trips up riders across Canada and around the world
- Charging infrastructure — from home Level 2 chargers to public fast-charging networks
- Industry news and policy — the regulations, incentives, and market shifts that affect what you can buy and how you can ride
We’re just getting started — and there’s a lot more coming.
A Word on How We Work
eMobilityNow is independent. Nobody pays us to recommend a product, and no manufacturer gets a say in our editorial decisions. When we link to an external source, it’s because it’s the best available information — not because someone asked us to.
We verify facts against primary sources — government pages, official regulations, peer-reviewed data — wherever possible. When something is our opinion, we say so clearly. And when the facts change, we update the article and timestamp it so you always know how current the information is.
That’s the standard I held myself to in banking. It’s the standard I’m holding this site to now.
Let’s Connect
If you’ve got a question, spotted something we got wrong, or have a story tip about what’s happening in the EV and e-mobility space — I genuinely want to hear from you.
The best way to reach me is through the Contact page. I read every message personally and respond to as many as I can.
Thanks for being here. This space is just getting started — and the ride is going to be interesting.
